MY PRIORITIES

Improve our roads and infrastructure.

I will be a fierce advocate to improve the conditions of our roads. I promise to always be active with neighborhoods to report potholes and other issues that occur.

While it is important to acknowledge that Indianapolis is extremely disadvantaged by the state’s infrastructure funding formula, we must focus on solutions that invest in the city’s streets. We must also ensure that pedestrians and cyclists are safe in our city by building sidewalks and trails in our area, especially ones that connect together.

Support public safety and reduce crime.

Ensuring that our city is safe is the #1 way to keep our community thriving. We must work to support our public safety officers to help them staff well and also build trust between law enforcement and the community, and it is something I currently do in my day job in our local government.

It is extremely important to diligently work with neighborhoods, IMPD and Lawrence Police to keep our area safe. One particular focus of mine is working with Castleton Square Mall to provide an additional presence there to ensure that everyone is safe. I am proud to be endorsed by our Marion County Sheriff Kerry Forestal.

Invest in mental health programs.

Mental health is an issue which impacts nearly all families. By investing in this issue, we will make our city safer and a more welcoming place for everyone.

Tragically, my family was impacted as well. I lost my grandmother to suicide 15 years ago, and there are countless others with similar stories. I promise to always be a voice for this issue, and to work with IMPD to provide additional resources so we can respond to mental health issues in ways to keep everyone safe.

Being from a family of veterans too, I can speak on how many of them suffer through this crisis as well. We must do more for them.
